Pesto “alla Genovese” is the classic pesto. Originally from Liguria, it is made from fresh basil, pine nuts, pecorino cheese, salt and olive oil.
By now, other varieties such as our pesto “Rosso” (made from tomatoes) or various varieties typical of the region have already established themselves.
The famous Italian sauce offers many creative uses in the kitchen. Aside from pasta, pesto also refines vegetable soups or boiled meat and adds the distinct Italian touch to our local dishes.
